Indian Dance and Mosiac day

The whole of Easton School took part and participated in a fun packed day of Indian dancing and Mosiac making with the help from Peter and Suzanna who kindly spent the day with us.

The children learnt about the Indian culture and dancing, all the children really enjoyed the dancing and fully participated in it as you can see from the Photographs above.
In the picture on the left the children are learning an Indian Prayer and in the picture on the right girls are putting the finishing touches to their mosiacs.

School Garden

On Friday afternoons groups of children have been weeding, watering, sowing seeds, and finding lots of exciting bugs! They have harvested tomatoes, beans, carrots, potatoes, and other vegetables, and tidying up for the winter. The soil is very sandy and needs lots of muck and compost to help grow better vegetables next year.

Art Club

Children from years 1 to 4 produced an aquarium each and a Hallowe'en picture over 6 weeks of Art Club in the first half of term. They enjoyed painting the inside and outside of the aquaria and making fish, mermaids, seaweed, waves and other objects to populate them.

Sikh afternoon

We set up the class as a Sikh Gudwhara and played out a typical visit of worship.
We covered our heads and took off our shoes. We learnt how they bow and how they sit males and females separately.
After the ceremony we had a sample of a sweet that the Sikh people often eat after worship. Nicole and a few children made the sweets.

Grandparents in for lunch

On Thursday the children invited their grandparents in for a traditional roast lunch. The event was a great success and everyone loved our school dinners!
